I've been writing since childhood. It in part came about from a conviction I felt about all the tall tales I created to either get attention or to get out of trouble.
At some point I figured that I was so "good" at lying- maybe I'd be good at writing stories.
Out of this, and in no small part of my brother's love of movies, I became fascinated with story telling and thrived off of having other's hear my stories- so here I am- striving to become a professional story teller.
The book, as I'll refer to it now, has been in the works for many years. In College, I felt led to begin a writing project, not really sure what would come of it, or even the purpose behind it.
I began recording all the life lessons I learned and writing a good deal on my personal experiences and how I got a handle on Life- not control, but a better understanding.
As I worked on it over several years, I beagn to see a picture form. Growing up without a father, God had me encounter many people and teachings that opened my eyes and affected who I became. I feel that God led me in that path to learn those lessons in the midst of my situation so I may, in turn, pass on what I know to other fatherless young men, so they may glean from my experience and give them a starting point in cultivating the answers they are looking for.
This is the first feature length script that I wrote. We entered pre-production on it in the fall of 2007 and began production in 2008 only to have numerous cast members decide to not show up. There were enough obstacles to overcome before we started, but with cast members and locations dropping like flies, we had to call it off.
On a brighter note, I just recieved official notification that it has been awarded copyright here in the U.S.- J O Y !
