Finder's Keepers

The 2007 Short-

Finder's Keepers was shot Once Upon A Time in April, Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th, 2007 in Enid, OK.

Arrangements were made, but many fell through. The shoot was very much a lesson in FLEXIBILITY. Had to change locations on the fly, I lost a bridge (don't ask). Half my cast didn't show up, thus you'll be seeing me on the screen (BTW- I had a cast of two originally).

My Father-In-Law, Bob Horsley, didn't mind that he got to punch me on screen. Bob plays Frank, a man about to commit suicide, and I play Jason, a guy who interrupts a weak, old man's last wishes in the pursuit of personal gain. This short, about 8 to 10 minutes could actually be the opening sequence for the feature.

I wrote this sequence at WSU in a short story class. Thanks to that teacher, the story takes on a more solid close to which I intend to lead into a bigger story. I was finally able to transfer the footage earlier this summer and completed a very rough cut of the footage we had, after discovering one of the tapes was missing. It is interesting to look at this four year old

The 2012 Feature Length Project
With the lessons that I learned from the first attempt at Producing The Road to Rising Moon, I determined that a more viable project would be a smaller film in terms of cast and locations.

So, two years ago I began developing the 10 pages I used to shoot the original short into a feature length project. It is challenging to write with specific constraints on a project, but I am beginning to get excited about making this film as I am completing a final polish after 6 rewrites.

We have initiated  the Kickstarter.com Project with the production of Finder's Keepers to be its aim. We are going to raise $68,421 with an initial goal of $6,582.

Synopsis
Frank, an older man at the end of a tragedy filled life, is about to commit suicide. A young man, passing through town, intervenes at the last moment starting a friendship with Frank as they both search out what life has to offer those at the end of the journey and at the beginning.
