Since his first taste of filmmaking when he was 8 years old on his brother’s first Feature, Leif Jonker’s Darkness, Logan Jonker has worked in over a dozen projects from Television, to feature length movies, to online videos, to wedding videography and commercials.
Through high school and college, Logan was lead to believe that his desire to make movies was a distraction and he needed to prepare for a “Real Job”. So he buried the idea deep down, saving away the hope that someday, he’d be able to work in and make movies. The years passed, he got married to Jerricho Horsley in 2000, worked hard trying to find that career that he could live with and that could someday allow him to make movies. He spent most of his free time scratching out his stories and watching movies, savoring the story telling experience.
A little over six years ago, Logan and his wife Jerricho felt that he needed to either make something of this dream or give it up altogether. They spent several days discussing the long, difficult commitment they would have to make as a family and they decided to go for it. That week Logan ordered his first camera, editing computer and a copy of Final Draft.
Succeeding in new challenges, Logan has a knack for rising to and surpassing expectations in whatever opportunity he’s invited into. Through hard work and determination, Logan has developed a reputation for problem solving and obtaining results against many odds. His reliability and professionalism lead to management offers with Pizza Hut, Burger King and Gatehouse Media, owner of the newspapers he worked for in Pratt, KS and Medicine Lodge, KS. However, Logan declined these career opportunities in order to pursue the art of filmmaking.
Logan has written 2 feature length screenplays, Finder’s Keepers that is currently in Pre-Production and is the focus on his current Kickstarter.com project and The Road to Rising Moon which is in Development.
Logan, Jerricho and their 5 kids live on 9 acres in western Missouri.
